Christmas X 6

So...I have been slacking on this blogging thing. I am so sorry. We literally had six different Christmas get togethers. It was so nice getting to see everyone. That is the one thing I do love about Christmas...getting to spend quality time at everyone's house since almost all of them were on different days. Kaden got everything he wanted and then some. Here are some pictures from all of our family get togethers...

Hope you all had a very merry Christmas! We sure did!

Check-Up

So I had my check-up today with my OB. I was expecting her to tell me that something was wrong with me. If you know me, you know that I always expect the worst. To my surprise everything was just fine. Hopefully that means that I won't have another miscarrige ever again. I can only hope. So hopefully in the next few months I will be pregnant again. I will keep you all posted.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Picture Tag

Okay, so I saw this on one of the blogs that I absolutely love to read so I thought that I would participate.

The object of the picture tag is to:

1) Choose the 4th folder where you store your pictures on your computer

2) Select the 4th picture in the folder

3) Explain the picture

4) Tag 4 people to do the same

NO CHEATING! (cropping, editing, etc!)

Here is mine!

Here is Kaden playing soccer in May at his first game. I can't remember if he was cheering his team on or if he was just proud of himself. Who knows? I can't really tag anyone for this since I really don't have anyone that I know that is on here. I just thought that it would be fun to see what I had in the fourth folder and the fourth picture. Hope everyone has a great week!

The Lights at the Zoo

Last night Jeremy and I took Kaden to the zoo. It was pretty chilly, but it wasn't that crowded so that was nice. Although, when we were leaving it was much busier than when we got there. Here are some pics of our evening...

Tonight Jeremy and I are going out on a date to finish our Christmas shopping. Him and I haven't been out together in a long time so we are both looking so forward to it. Hope you all are having a great weekend!

Busy Weekend

So as you know...Friday was busy with the miscarriage and all. Then on Saturday morning it was Christmas in our town with a parade and craft show. We took Kaden to see Santa there. Then he did a craft. After this Kaden had a birthday party to go to at a bowling alley. He has never been bowling so he really enjoyed it. He did pretty good too! Today my Mom had a Christmas Open House so we were there all day. I am kind of glad that we had so much going on this weekend so that I couldn't dwell on the miscarriage. Having supportive family and friends makes a time like this much easier.
Hope you all had a great weekend!

What a Day...

So my day did not go like I wanted it to. I was supposed to go into the OB for my Pap...but I started bleeding and cramping this morning. Obviously I was miscarrying. I have never had cramps like this. Once I got to the OB they did an internal ultrasound and discovered the tissue was right at the opening of my cervix, but my OB could not get it out. So our next visit was to the hospital to have a D and C. They got me right in and got it over with. I was so scared to have a D and C...but I am so glad that I chose to do it. I feel so much better now (as far as the cramps go)...just a little sad. Of course I am not happy about the miscarriage...but obviously something wasn't right. So hopefully when the time is right we will try again for another bundle of joy.

O Christmas Tree

So the weekend after Thanksgiving we always get our tree. Nothing changed with that this year. We got our tree Friday night and put it up on Saturday. I was just going to put the lights on it Saturday and do the ornaments on Sunday...but Kaden was waiting so patiently to put the ornaments on that I couldn't tell him no. So here are some pics of our Christmas tree. As you can see, Kaden took it very seriously. All of the ornaments that he put on are on the very bottom branches.

Once I got the camera out to take these pictures Bentley was just looking at me like he wanted his picture taken too...so here it is. He is just so darn cute!

I am 10 Weeks!

Fetal Development:

I'm Swimming! The baby has begun moving inside the womb although it's too small for mom to notice. Most of the joints are formed now - elbow, wrist, knee, shoulder, and ankle as well as the hands, fingers, feet and toes.

Maternal Changes:

The morning sickness may start to ease a bit. This week, we'll blame moodiness and a blotchy complexion on those wild hormones. Have heart ~ this is only temporary.
Your blood volume will increase 40%-50% during pregnancy. As a result, you may start to notice your veins more, particularly in your tummy, breasts, and legs.

I am still feeling very good. I don't feel pregnant yet...so I can't wait until I can feel the little peanut moving around. I haven't gained any weight either. My clothes, however, are feeling a bit tight. My Lovenox shots are going pretty well, other than my stomach is pretty bruised. I see that 6 people have voted. Thank you so much! I see that the majority thinks that we are going to have a boy. Kaden thinks so too. I am hoping that we can find out the sex at our January ultrasound. I go December 19 for my next ultrasound. I can't wait! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! I know that we did.

Week 9

I am now 9 weeks!

Fetal Development:

Cartilage and bones begin to form. The basic structure of the eye is well underway and the tongue begins to develop. The intestines start to move out of the umbilical cord and into the abdomen as the body grows and makes room. The fingers and thumb have appeared but are short and webbed. The baby is about the size of a strawberry.

Maternal Changes:

You're missing your second period this week. Your breasts may be fuller now than ever before and may feel very sensitive. Wearing a supportive bra can ease some of the tenderness. Your waistline may be growing and you may experience some heartburn and indigestion as your body adjusts to pregnancy hormones.

Jack's Toy Drive

One of the blogs that I love to follow is doing a toy drive in their son's name. He was only with his family for less than three months. Jack will live on forever through his sisters and through all of these kinds of activities. Here is the blog if you would like to read it.

If you choose to buy a toy from the wishlist it will get to where it needs to go. The toys will be delivered the weekend of December 20 to the Children's Hospital of New Jersey.

I am 8 weeks

Week 8

Fetal Development:

An ultrasound done at this stage should show a fluttering heartbeat. Elbows begin to form in the arms and fingers start to develop. The leg buds begin to show feet with tiny notches for the toes. The face continues to change as the ears, eyes and the tip of the nose appear. The intestines start to form in the umbilical cord. Teeth develop under the gums.

Maternal Changes:

Your uterus is the size of an orange now, and you may find your waistline expanding. If this is your first pregnancy, you're probably not showing. If it's not your first, you may have a "pooch" already. You will tend to show earlier in subsequent pregnancies since your muscles and ligaments aren't so tight.

You may be feeling like a teenager if you find yourself with pimples and other skin problems. Don't fret ~ pregnancy causes an increase in oil secretions not to mention those rampant hormones! Your break-outs will go away either after the first trimester as your hormones level off or after delivery.

First Appointments

I had my first appointment today with MFM. I was told that it was only a consultation appointment to talk about the Factor V and the MTHFR. Little did I know that I would be getting an ultrasound too. I felt pretty bad that I didn't have Jeremy come, but he needed to get Kaden from school and I really didn't think that it was worth it for him to come. Obviously I should have had him come...but luckily he isn't upset about it. My mom met me at the hospital so her and I both got to see the little peanut and hear the heartbeat. I also got the prescription to start the Lovenox. I am not looking forward to this, but I know that I must do it. At least with this pregnancy this didn't come as a surprise. Now I know that I am definitely pregnant, but I still don't feel like it. I guess that this is a good thing.

After the MFM appointment I had and appointment with my OBs office. I just had to meet with the nurse this time so it was a quick and easy appointment. Hopefully everything continues to go smooth like this.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Parent/Teacher Conferences

So tonight Jeremy and I had Kaden's parent/teacher conferences. I was kind of nervous about it...I really don't know why. It went very well! His teacher said that he is such a joy to have in class. She said that he always has a smile on his face and is very funny. For being only three years old she said that he is doing exceptionally well. If that doesn't make a parent feel super good about their child, I don't know what will.

Happy Halloween!

Here are some pictures of Kaden and Bentley trick-or-treating last night. Don't they look so cute?

Here is a picture of Kaden with his cousins. And here are the pumpkins which Jeremy is so proud of. The first picture has a pumpkin that Kaden carved almost entirely by himself and the other pumpkin is for the baby. This pumpkin is Bentley's. Doesn't it look just like him? This pumpkin is Kaden's.

And here is Jeremy's pumpkin. He was so proud that the shadow turned out on the house.

Are you asking why I don't have one? It is because Jeremy messed mine up. Mine was two rats that were supposed to have a cat shadowed on the house. For some reason the cat just looked like a blob so I told Jeremy not even to put mine out. But he did an awesome job on all the others, didn't he? Hope you all had a great Halloween! I know that we did!

First Appointment

So my first doctor's appointments are November 7th. I go to MFM in the morning and then to my OB in the afternoon. I am kind of excited to go to these appointments because I don't even feel pregnant yet. I can't wait to feel something...or to look like I have a little belly! Hopefully, though, I will not get as big as I was with Kaden. I will see if I can find the cd with the pics of me the day before I had Kaden. I was huge! If I find it I will post some of them.

At the Zoo...

Today Jeremy and I took Kaden to the zoo. It was their Little Boo at the Zoo celebration. Kaden had a blast! There was trick-or-treating and fun inflatable things for him to play on...and of course we got to see all the animals. Luckily it didn't start raining until we were about to leave. All of the animals were so active. They must like the cooler weather. Here are some pics from our day at the zoo...

There was a Power Wheels track set up for kids to
ride on. Kaden chose to ride the 4-wheeler.

Hope you have a great weekend! :o)

A Little Background

Okay...so as you can see by the pic above, I am a wife and a mother to one little boy. Jeremy and I had our son three years ago. Everything was a surprise then. I had surgery for scoliosis when I was twelve...so that worried me with carrying a baby and getting an epidural. Not to mention that I have a blood clotting disorder called Factor V Lieden. I also have MTHFR (methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase) which has to do with the processing of amino acids. With all of this going on I was so worried that I wouldn't have a healthy child. I had to have an ultrasound every month at Maternal Fetal Medicine and was monitored rather closely. I had to do Lovenox shots once a day in my stomach to keep my blood thin. Kaden was born weighing 8 lbs. 11 3/4 ozs. so obviously all of that was worth it. I just wanted to give a little history of my health issues so if there is anyone out there that has any questions, don't hesitate to ask. I have a friend that has Factor V Lieden also...so it must be more common than I think.

I am PREGNANT!!!

So I took a test on Monday and Wednesday and both came back positive. I feel so blessed to be able to get pregnant fairly easy since I have read so many blogs out there where women have so many problems.

Kaden and I surprised Jeremy with the great news! Kaden made his dad a card that said " I am gonna be a BIG brother" on the inside. I asked Kaden if he knew what that meant. He said "Yeah...it means that we are gonna get a baby." Jeremy was shocked! He really thought that I wasn't pregnant...which is exactly what I wanted. Now I am waiting to hear when my first Maternal Fetal Medicine appointment is. I will keep you posted.

Here we go...

I finally gave into doing this blogging thing. I figure that if MoMs (Mothers of Multiples) can do this, I sure should have the time. I will post more tomorrow when it isn't so late. I have much to blog about.
