Happy belated Easter!

Easter weekend was super busy! We spent a lot of time with family doing many different things. We started out the weekend by dying eggs on Friday night. The kids all did a great job!

Saturday I ran a bunch of errands. Then we were supposed to be going to my brother's for a cookout, but my mom called me crying hysterically that her basement had flooded. Needless to say our plans had changed. My brother, sister-in-law, Jeremy and I all helped my mom get some things out of the basement to dry. Carah found a box of pictures that was soaked. We had to separate every single picture so that they wouldn't be ruined. Even though my mom lost a bunch of stuff from the flooding, it sure was fun going down memory lane. She also came across a bunch of momentos from elementary school that Chad and I had made. We are hoping that they will be okay. The yearbooks are still drying. Once all of this was done the Easter Bunny stopped by our house.

Sunday morning the kids woke up and we played with the stuff that the Easter bunny had brought. I hid some eggs around the house for the kids to find. Kaden had silly bands in his eggs and Kinley had Cheerios in hers. She did pretty good crawling from egg to egg, waiting for me to open it so that she could have the Cheerios. We then went to my grandma's house.

Our Big Purchase

About two weeks ago we got a swing set. We have never had one before since our old house was right next to a school yard. Let's just say that both kids love it. If it ever stops raining, I am sure that the kids will be spending many, many more hours on it. I can only imagine how much time we will be spending in our backyard this summer. I can't wait!

Life doesn't get any better than this

Wow! Looking at these pictures really shows how bad we need some grass. I can't wait for the guy to come and reseed it all. Happy Spring!

Spring Break

Kaden was on Spring Break last week. We had a very fun-filled week to say the least. It started out by us going to Columbus. We had planned to go there to visit COSI and the Columbus Zoo. Plans changed a little, though. When we got there Friday night we just took life easy and had some dinner at Max and Erma's. Then Saturday morning we got around and headed to COSI. Saturday night we went to Dave and Buster's. Wow! What a fun place! I don't know who had more fun, the kids or the adults. We were going to go to the zoo on Sunday, however it was supposed to rain and Kinley had a horrible cough so we decided that the zoo was not the best thing to do...so we decided to go shopping at Polaris instead. Let's just say that the zoo would have been much cheaper. We did have a great time shopping and the kids were all fantastic!

I took the week off too, to be home with the kids. We had a great week! We went to Build-A-Bear at the mall one day. Kaden got a rock-n-roll bear and Kinley got an Easter bunny. Then the next day we went to a local playland and had a blast. Kinley loved swinging...which is a good thing because we have ordered a swingset for our backyard.

Love these two kids!!!
Friday night was Kaden's friend birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's. He had a blast and I think that all the other kids did too! I still cannot believe that he is 6 years old.

TicketBlaster!!!
He got over 150 tickets in that thing
Even the big kids had to play some games!

On Saturday, Kaden had his family party at our house. He is so lucky to have so many people in his life that love and care about him.

Here he is with his new helmet. It matches his 4-wheeler.
The kids had a blast with this after most everyone left.
After the party was over we decided to head to a local Mexican restaurant to get some dinner. Kaden was so excited that I told our waitress that it was his birthday. He looks so cute in that big sombrero. As you can see, we had a great week! I can't wait to do it again!

Happy 6th Birthday, Kaden!

Happy Birthday to my sweet little man! At this time six years ago you were less than an hour old. How those 6 years have flown! It doesn't seem possible that you can be six. Just crazy! You are such an awesome kid. Yes...you definitely know how to push my buttons, but you truly are a considerate, loving, caring, and funny kid! Daddy and I love you so much! Happy Birthday!
